To master this specialty, Dr. Handler completed medical school, four years of ophthalmic surgery training, and became a board-certified ophthalmologist. Then, Dr. Handler completed two years of extensive, advanced oculofacial plastic surgery training, qualifying examinations and a scientific thesis to meet the membership requirements of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS).
